Flint TechTalk on innovations applauded!

Flint group organized a Tech Talk at Hotel The Park, New Delhi on 2^nd February 2023 on innovations in their inks, for leading gravure and Flexo printing companies. This program was held on the sidelines of PlastIndia exhibition being held at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The event was well-attended, highly appreciated and applauded by the audience. 

The talk was initiated by Upal Roy Managing Director of Flint Group India South Africa and Middle East. Welcoming the guests, he apprised them of Flint’s setup in India; with mother plant at Vadodara, setup conforming to European standards with sufficient capacity and over 14 ink kitchens across the country to serve the customers efficiently over next  three years. He further dwelled on the company’s focus on simplification, Innovations and Sustainability.

Sanjeev Sharma Technical Director Flint, took over from Upal Roy to speak on latest developments in packaging inks. He spoke on the wide range of products for different applications offered by Flint which included toluene based, toluene free and water-based inks. He covered inks for most of the process like those for Gravure printing, CI Flexo, PVC and NC based inks for shrink Sleeves, inks for corrugated board printing, etc. Wrapping up the Flint group’s presentation Shailesh Sharma General manager-Technical spoke on the latest developments in narrow web inks including water based inks.

After Flint group’s presentation a very interesting session was delivered by Sandeep Sharma of Acme Rolltech. It was an eyeopener for many as Sandeep dwelled on nuances of using and selecting the proper aniloxes to achieve excellence in flexo printing. Impressing upon the fact, that the anilox is the heart of good printing, he covered the whole process of manufacturing aniloxes, their selection as per needs of print and maintenance. It was interesting to note being the only Indian company manufacturing anilox rolls in India and starting in 2019, despite the pandemic, they have sold a whopping number of over 6000 anilox rolls!
